Before and After

Before

After

Recovering the seat was as easy as I thought it would be. Painting the blue took some time and a steady hand, but I am pleased with the way they turned out. Can you believe KBroome fixed up some chairs? Not my thing huh? But it can be my thing just like running. You can do whatever you put your mind to. Tomorrow I will put my mind to ignoring the m and m's calling my name every time I pass Dawn's desk.

I swear I wouldn't be watching this nonsense without Andy's influence, but I really am. And I really like it. Just thought I should share.
For your enjoyment-

My heart swoons over a good before and after. You know why I haven't tended to the blog this week? I have been working on my own before and after. I will have pictures Monday, but for now...
Enjoy these.

This before and after comes from ljindustries.

This weekend we celebrated our friend Ryan's birthday with a costume party. Perfect since its almost Halloween.
We had a Johnny and June, Amy Whinehouse, Lady Gaga, John and Kate, Brittney Spears, cow, and Dr. McSteamy. I was Barbie and Mr. Broome was Dr. House.

I think he looked JUST like House which isn't bad considering House is one handsome old guy.

I haven't danced so much in a long time.

Sometimes Betsy likes to sit like a human. Voluntarily. We look over and there she is looking back as if she could only say "pass me the remote" and she would be one of us.

This was taken before she devoured a Halloween kitkat still in its wrapper.

If you click on the first picture you can see her seriously look into the camera. No camera shy dog in this house.

Typical Monday night.

Minus the documentation of it.
Is it Friday yet? Laundry always disappears by Friday.

I crackled my dining room table. I love how it turned out. Now I just have to work on the chairs.

Mr. Broome installed new screens.

I cleaned all of the windows.

All in all a good weekend.
I hope yours was too.

Today I ran.
And took pictures of cows.
Because it is freakin fall and it feels so dang good outside.
I think the cows feel it too.

Best time of the year.

B took this picture of me and Mr. Broome at her birthday party and I just adore it.
But that has nothing to do with this post.
I know all you people have read about on this darn blog the past week is, running, running, running, but I have one more thing to say.
One more, one more.
You can do it too. I mean it. Lots of friends have said, "Oh, I wish I could do it." "If I were faster or if I could run more than 3 miles I would do it."
Here is the thing. Anyone can. Believe me, if you saw some of the people out there running it you would be like "Really? Them?"
This is not to sound mean either, but I know the apprehension that comes with running that many miles in front of spectators. I always assumed that runners were of a certain body build and attained a higher level of physical fitness. These things are just not true. So long as you prepare, follow a training plan, and eat the right foods, you can do it too.
So who wants to run the next one with me?
I want volunteers! Everyone at this last race seemed to have a partner to chat with along the way, and Mrs. Broome here sure would have liked one too!

Sunday morning came early. Mr. Broome and I headed to bed early Saturday and I fell asleep fast. I think my body knew I needed to sleep. We got up to the alarm at 4:20. I was easily able to get up and get going. After a banana and some peanut butter wheat toast we were off.
We got to the race around 6:20 am after the GPS first took us to the wrong address. After waiting in line forever for a porta potty(so so stinky) Mr. Broome escorted me to the starting line. I got in the 2:20 finish time pace group. I debated going further back in the line because I figured I wouldn't run the same pace the whole time.
I won't get into all of the details, but the race was awesome. I truly didn't feel tired until mile 13. I ran the entire time with the exception of a couple of Gatorade stops. I finished hard at 2:10. Ten minutes better than my projected 2:20!
And of course I didn't win. Because there were some HARD CORE runners out there. Their legs and abs said so.
But I finished and I can't wait to sign up for the next one.
Mr. Broome took some pictures, but hopefully I will like the professional pics taken at the finish line.

Mr. Broome was taking pictures on mile 5. I was surprised to see him so I waved.

Kind of blurry, but he was pretty far away.
Thanks for all of your encouraging words friends who called and texted:)

Bunny

This is Bunny. We have been dog sitting this little squirt since last Thursday. Her parents are on a cruise. One of her eyes came out and was sewn back in, hence the funny look on her sassy little face.
Of course this happened a long time ago when she was not in our care.
Bunny has only ran into the road in front of our house ONCE while I was in the house pant less doing laundry. At that time she stopped two cars who patiently waited for me to put pants on to run out and get her.
Oh Bunny, we will miss you.

Mr. Broome picked this package up today from the running store in Atlanta. I am so excited and nervous all at the same time.
But that's all.
Hope you all have had the best week.
P.s. Thanks for the concern comments from you friends about my running safety. That's another story I'll have to post, but for now I must study!
