Our home is cozy tonight. It's Thanksgiving Eve.

However my table is set for Christmas.

Mr. Broome is sleeping. He had a 4:30 morning. Don't worry, it was for pleasure, not work. He spent the day with his best friend on the road to North Alabama to pick up his new toy.

Betsy was sleeping too until I snapped this.
I can't get as sleepy, so I thought I would document the night.
I am thankful for these two, they make my days and evenings complete.. and cozy.

(Suzani Upholstered Arm Chair)
If fabric could make your heart skip a beat, Suzani does just that. Material Recovery has a gorgeous selection of Suzani pillows and if possible I would buy them all for my home. Alas, I'm not made of money. So,I have googled Suzani fabric left and right and am actually finding some good deals. Embroidered fabric is "in" and adds great color and life to a home.

Another Betsy Story

Mr. Broome left for work this morning much earlier than me. I didn't have to run, so I slept in just long enough to give me an hour to get up, get showered, dressed, etc. As I am getting ready in the mornings, I let Betsy out to potty and run around. This morning was no different. I opened the door and watched as she charged into the yard , waking any sleeping creatures, and barking at the fog on the field behind our home.
I went back to getting ready. Hair fixed, clothes on, lunch ready to go. I went to call Betsy in.
She came running happily as she always done, her tongue lazily bobbing up and down as she approached the door. I pet her as any good dog owner would and I feel that she is wet. Betsy is a black dog so at the first glance of her I assume she's wet from the tall grass she has just run through.
I get a towel to wipe her off and then I realize something.
She's not wet from moist grass, she is wet from poop.
My guess is cat poop.
I had 10 minutes to get to work, and my inside dog is covered in cat poop.
I then call Dawn and tell her "Oh sorry I'll be late, Betsy has taken a bath in cat poop."
The last time she did this she was living on the BLVD with me and my room mates. Betsy and Lady( Amanda's dog) were always rolling in something, but Betsy has had ENOUGH spankings to know this was a nono.
I hollered at her as I bathed her that her daddy would surely find out.
If you know Betsy, which many of you readers do, you know that she took this pretty hard. I went home to check on her at lunch and she greeted me at the door with a head hung low and her tail between her legs.
She really is a good girl.

Remember that time I told you that I needed to find a group of people to run with? Well, I have found them. As of now it's two guys, one from my in-laws church, and his friend. They meet at the gym at 5:15 or 5:30 three days a week and run from there. I was a little apprehensive about running with people I didn't really know, but Mr. Broome knows one of the guys well and they are friends of Mr. Broome's family. So rest easy readers, I am in good hands.
I invited Lydia, my other running partner to go, but she is still working her way up to longer distances. I wasn't surprised when I got to the gym at 5:30 and she wasn't there. She had a late night at work the night before.
So we start off running this morning and the guys keep a nice pace that I am easily able to keep up with and I was feeling good. I was feeling thankful for the Lord sending me the opportunity to get more running time. He knows it makes me happy and He knows in the colder months I need the encouragement from others and people to run with in the dark.
We were running up to the square, not even a mile in, when we hear a car come zooming down the street and fly into the district attorney's parking lot to the left of us. I noticed the car was the same as Lydia's, but I knew she wouldn't have been able to find us after we left.
I was wrong. Out jumped Lydia. Running and smiling to us. The guys had never met her so they were a little confused. I introduced her as we ran up the sidewalk. One of the guys made a comment that all he thought when he saw her pull in was "I have never seen someone so excited and hurried to get to a city job, that early in the morning."

I was not wanting to get up this morning when I heard that 4:45 alarm, but the run is worth it. When I am not consistently running, I feel less like myself. I guess running makes me feel good inside and it's a little check off my daily accomplishment list.

Dear Mom,
Welcome to KBroome. Please limit the times you correct my grammar to a minimum of once a week. Readers of KBroome don't care about my grammar and neither should you. I know it's your teacher's heart, but this is a stress free blog and grammar truly can be stressful.
Love,

Tell the truth

(Swear Laura 3" Booties)

Have you caught on to the "bootie" trend? Apparently they are the thing this season. At first sight I thought these boots were too elfish, but the more I see of them the more I like.
So, readers, I want to know.. Are you in on the bootie trend?

In preparing and finishing my first half marathon, I was pretty consumed in time with running. And that's a good thing. I like running, it makes me feel good inside, I am less prone to picking at Mr. Broome when I am getting fresh air and exercise everyday.
But lately, I have slacked. I guess its harder to push myself when I haven't set a goal. So I am going to set a goal and soon. The only problem with training for another race comes the need for sunlight, time, and a friend to run with the same long distances as me.
Any volunteers? Anyone wanna have a chat with God and ask him to make the days longer?
So that's that.
I want my goal to be a full marathon come spring. Who's with me?

As for the time I have been slacking, I have discovered my inner most desire to learn upholstery. That's right, upholstery. And I can do it, but its a slow process. So soon, you will see the efforts of my slackness in not running.

That's it friends. Come back at the end of the week and I will have a post about our new dining room table, not upholstered, but painted!

We went camping this past weekend. We went to the same spot we do every year. Its right next to a lake with a big water fall and its in a high enough spot for Ben's satellite to get cable.
No bathrooms. No plug in's. No cell phone service. Just tents, a small grill, and the boys need for football... on a projector screen. Real camping.
I have so many pictures I would like to share. I can't get over how much the season expressed itself. I captured as much as I could. This is absolutely the best time of the year. I wish this season were longer to enjoy the leaves and cool sunny days.
Click on the pictures to make them larger- they are dreamy to look at.

I love this picture- like something out of a story book. I think God dipped his paint brush in his endless assortment of colors just for me on this day.

I have only a hundred more of these photos.. I hate to bore you people with nature, but I am sure you can all appreciate my zeal for God's gift of color and beauty that comes with fall.
Love you all readers, I have another DIY coming soon!
