The past two weeks have been eventful. I said "goodbye" to the rover. I was kind of sad to be getting rid of it because it was the first car I ever bought. First car I ever called a zillion insurance places to get quotes for. First car I tapped Brittney's car with twice. First car that I felt was reliable.
Good bye Rover, your new family has got a real gem on their hands..

It snowed. Lots of snow. I didn't get so many pictures of the snow as I did video which I will share sometime.

Mr. Broome wore his standard Carrhart "winteralls." Anytime its super cold out or we have a freak snow, Mr. Broome bundles up in his overalls. I love them, I think they make him look even more manly.

We went for a drive with iced up windows. Mr. Broome wanted to play in the snow but I was so sleepy when I got home from work.

The snow melted as fast as it came. Isn't that just the pits?

The best part of this week. My sweet friend Amanda had her first baby. A red headed boy who's soft, warm face is absolutely Heaven sent. I can't believe you had a baby Amanda, I am so proud of you:)

Grandpa TomTom was proud too. Can you get over that grandaddy smile?

D, the proud new dad.

I love you, A! Can I be Thomas's millionth aunt?? I know he has plenty...

We had a couples Valentine date night in Atlanta. We went to see Dialogue in the Dark before dinner, but it had been cancelled due to weather. We were a little disappointed but enjoyed the rest of the evening and our stay at the W. Have you ever been to the W? It wasn't my favorite, a little to modern for me.

Hope you all are having a good week and I hope to be more consistent with blogging:)

This guy, Captain Ice cream, was on a show last week called the Shark Tank. Have you seen it? It's a show about inventors selling their invention or idea to a board of investors in hopes of getting a sum of money to get their business going.
Seriously the kind of show I could see my dad going on. He's always inventing something.
So me and Mr. Broome were watching it last week when "Captain Ice cream" came on. He was selling the idea of the old fashioned ice cream truck man, in the white uniform, but instead of a truck he had a scooter.
Brilliant.
Kids can really relate to a scooter now-a-day's more so than a truck.
I mean that.
I liked him too. I wanted to pull him through the screen and give him a bowl of heath bar yogurt from our freezer.
He was that likable.
But, the investors turned him down. "Sorry, Ice cream man, your business is sweet and fuzzy, but get your chocolaty dumb arse out of here."
No, no they didn't say that. But they did give him a big fat "NO" and proceeded to hop on his scooter once he left and vroom around the room on it.
It made me so sad.
Can't you tell someone that you don't like their idea without making fun of them in the process. Couldn't they have given him a little more money to buy ONE more scooter, just so there could be at least TWO captain Ice creams out there in the world??
I teared up about it. Of course I did. And Mr. Broome was all "Oh my gosh Kirbey, really? The ice cream man makes you cry but not Extreme Home Makeover?"
Yes he did. I'll tell you why too. I'll get personal with you.
My dad has always had big ideas, and not always gotten the most encouragement. It breaks my heart to think of someones spirit being broken all because of another opinion. People can be so mean. A lot of things make me think of my dad. This just being one of them.

This morning was going so well. I ran 6 miles, got a cup of coffee, took my time showering, getting ready for work, and in my extra time, I did this:

Because WHY WOULDN'T I have a photo shoot with Betsy on a Monday morning?
I got up from snapping pictures to figure out what I was going to wear when all of a sudden it hit me. I have to be at work at 8:00, NOT 8:30. You see some days are 8:00days and some are 8:30. It was 7:45. It takes me 15 minutes to get to work.
That meant, I was going to be late.
I don't even remember getting dressed, my lunch in a bag, or even flying out the door. I mean I do, but you get how hurried I was.
Then as I am driving to work, I realize something.

I forgot to change socks*. If those aren't the classiest looking feet you saw today, I don't know what would be.
*Not the same socks, I wore running. I know that's what some of you were thinking.
