I told Mr. Broome that I wasn't sure if I wanted to post about this, but I've decided I will. Too many times I've written about something I'm going to do, but then I don't follow through. I'd like to prove myself wrong :) So to work on that "following through" thing, I am posting my next running goal. A marathon. Dumdumdummmmmmmm!
I decided this needed to be my next goal because I've easily been running longer distance more consistently lately. It feels so good to run long distance, it's kind of my niche. However, 26.2 miles might not feel that good, I need to try it myself and see.
I picked another plan from Hal Higdon's website and fit it to the dates that will end on the Atlanta marathon. I've told you now, don't let me back out. This summer's heat will be no excuse for quitting!

Speaking of running, doesn't Amy have nice legs? She's a runner too. She also just graduated with her Masters from Georgia Southern. Yay Amy! Then her brother Tyler graduated from UGA at the top of his class. Those Shoemaker's are smart.
(These pictures taken by someone in Amy's family)

My first ever roomie from college is getting married this weekend and I'm super excited. Lauren, can we do the train at your wedding?
That's all friends, with a picture of this cutie to end the post.

Soup Please

A piece of honesty for today: I've been eating like a pig- too much food with no real nutritional value. I hate to do this to myself. So, I decided I needed to make a dinner that would make me feel good inside. Notice I said me, because Mr. Broome would NEVER try the meal I am posting about..

OhSheGlows had a guest blogger today, Marla from FamilyFreshCooking. She posted a few yummy recipes, but one that I had to try myself. She blogged the recipe HERE. <------ Credit here, see? This is not my recipe, I'm am simply blogging about it.

It's called Broccoli Cauliflower Avocado Soup. It's ingredients are not much more than that. You should really read the recipe if you want to make it, but basically.. you'll blend broccoli, cauliflower, onion, avocado, some spices, and broth after cooking them on the stove top for 30 min. So easy right? I dropped some Greek yogurt on top and a sprinkle of cheese.
True story: This soup was delicious, filling, and verged on tasting like a baked potato. Shut up, it did.

Meanwhile, Betsy got a sock in the face.

3 Years

Mr. Broome and I celebrated 3 years of marriage yesterday. It's really hard to believe! We celebrated after I got out of class with Japanese food and sherbert.
These have been the best last three years and I love my Mr. Broome so much.

I love flowers and this arrangement had the perfect mix of my favorites. Hydrangeas, sunflowers, peach roses, and peonies.
